Reframe - Perspectives on Europe through comics from Algeria, Turkey and the UK: Exhibition Report

Reframe project, curated by Canan Marasligil, Paul Gravett and Megan Donnolley, portrays the work of nine artists from Algeria, Turkey and the UK who use their distinctive styles and viewpoints to ‘reframe’ perspectives on Europe. Through their graphic short stories the artists examine and expose the cultural, social and political dynamics between Europe and each of their countries of origin.

Following its display in the participating countries, Algeria, Turkey and the UK, the Reframe exhibition has been repurposed for the Philanthropy House in Brussels by Canan Marasligil and Judith van Ingen for ECF. The exhibition was open to visitors from 19th March to 12th of May.

This report details the specifications of the exhibition and its surrounding events and offers reflection in the form of collected evaluation forms and the Visitor's book in addition to collated publicity and advertising material and conclusion remarks.

Special thanks to the EFC team for hosting this exhibition at the Philanthropy House and to Nina Alves for writing this report.
