New in 2019: Action Grants
With this call, we went looking for ideas, projects, and experiments that blow new life into European democracy. We asked for innovative and provocative ideas that challenge the negative discourse and are able to become inspiring examples from the local to the European levels. Find out about the call and the granted projects.
Research & Development grants
We support people and their ideas using creativity and cultural methods for positive change at a local, regional and/or European level. Since 2014, we launch open calls to submit innovative ideas that address Europe-wide issues.
The Research and Development Grants provide seed money that offers the opportunity to explore new and daring concepts. We actively support your knowledge development through opportunities to network, finding new partners for collaboration, sharing tools for developing your ideas and taking part in training, residencies and workshops.
Our most recent call Courageous Citizens ran from March 29 2018 to May 9 2018, click here to find out more about the awarded projects.
Please note: There will be no regular call for R&D Grants in 2019.

FundAction is a new participatory fund making grants for social transformation.
Participatory grant-making seeks to involve those directly affected by the issues — the people that the money intends to help — in decision-making about where the money goes. It can be a more effective way of reaching people and addressing issues of power.
The new fund offers three kinds of grants: Renew, Rethink, Resist.
Cultural activists can become a member of FundAction, and meet digitally and in person. A dedicated online platform allows group decision-making and discussions, and proposal submission and review.
